One of the most common things I hear from patients and students is, “There is nothing left to eat between my diabetes, heart disease, and kidney stones!”
There are many reasons I keep doing the work I do—the most important being to help people change habits and improve their health. The Kidney Stone Diet does just that. And no matter what medical condition you have, it can help.
Within this linked article, you will find a study from 2021 from the American Heart Association that discusses which diets help prevent heart disease. The DASH diet and the Mediterranean diet are two on the list. Both are very similar to the Kidney Stone Diet. DASH is similar, except it doesn’t discuss oxalate, which sets the Kidney Stone Diet apart from all others. The Mediterranean diet is good but doesn’t discuss salt as it should.
My point is the Kidney Stone Diet is simply a healthy diet. When we lower salt and sugar, we lessen our stone risk, and we lessen the risk of heart disease and diabetes. When our daily calcium needs are met, we lessen our risk for bone loss. When we lower oxalate, we lessen our stone risk. When we eat foods within portion size, we lessen our risk of obesity, which is a precursor for all of these disease states.
Practicing this diet is just an overall healthy lifestyle for all of us.
I hope the Kidney Stone Diet will reach one of these healthy diet lists one day. I am much too small an entity for this to happen in my lifetime, but I have big dreams and hopes for it in another. God knows I try with my big mouth everywhere I appear online. 🙂
Practice the Kidney Stone Diet and it will change your life. Click here to hear from other who have taken the journey. I want your name to appear on my site too. This life we have is not a dress rehearsal. Fueling our body with nutrition is the best thing you can do for yourself because being sick is the worst thing ever.
I believe in you. Now, get to work!
Your friend and advocate,
