Kidney Stone Diet Safe Tips: Once in a while, I do like a protein shake after an intense weight lifting session. I am only against them when people overdo their protein intake. We do NOT need all the protein the fitness industry tells us we need. Get normal amounts each day. Mostly we worry about the meat protein in stone disease because it can lead to high uric acid amounts in your urine, lower pH, and too much meat protein can increase urine calcium.

I like this recipe because you also get a good amount of calcium. If you are dairy-free, use a non-dairy, fortified with calcium alternative such as rice, coconut, flaxseed, or pea. Non-sweetened is best—the banana will take care of the sweetness here.
